Jake, bobby, mullen, thanks for the real nice compliments. I was happy to have had the chance at this one and have it cooperate along with the mate. I'm pleased that the female got her bug at that time too.

These are really cute and very, very nice pics Norm. Each one with a different pose is outstanding. Love them.

Nice shots Normcar.

I am not sure which is my favorite. This must have been a blast to have these guys all around you. Then you get one to show off and eat a caterpillar for you.

It must be great to be good and lucky both!

Great shots of these cute little guys. In away I miss them, and yet I don't.
I miss them because they are comical to watch, I don't miss them because when
they're around, it's colddddddd!!!!

Thanks Houston, zoomn, wm, I appreciate the comments.

Zoomn, if I were lucky I wouldn't have had to wait for over a year to get a chance like this And if I was good I wouldn't have had to leaf through 75 bad shots before getting to these.

Wm, if your cold is what we are getting up here now, well, you've got it pretty good down there.

The fact that you got that female with the caterpillar from above, below and from the side is amazing to me. Beautiful series.

Thanks Suzan, from what I hear these birds remain on the ground most of the time so I feel somewhat privileged to have found a couple that resists the general image and migrates occasionally to the trees. These ones were in hunt mode and that was why I was able to get this one from the multiplicity of angles, as both were bouncing about from limb to limb, branch to ground, and leave to log.
