I was lucky enough to have found a grove of trees along the highway where a family of bluebirds was abiding. The mom and pop were rushing about feeding the kids who were interspersed throughout the grove in various trees. Apparently they had just learned to fly recently and now the parents needed to rush about feeding them.

I will post the feeding shots in due course but I thought that these little cuties perched waiting for mom to arrive was worth it's own string.

300/4 IS on Mark II body; overcast day (what else is new)

On first glance I'd swear that this little one is glaring at me with nasty thoughts but that's simply the way they look head on, no matter what:

Gads, now the other one's awake and is glaring at me (convincing myself that it's just the way they look):

A private moment between two kids (leaving the photographer wondering)

Where's mom?

I feel like poking that dude's eyeballs out

Just ignore him, I need a stretchy-poo

Where the heck is mom?

Grrrr

I'll be posting the feeding shots in due course. Thanks for taking a look.

So cute!!!

Seems like you kept moving closer and taking shots. The babies seem to be more tolerant of humans.

Thanks bobby, very observant of you. I moved a few feet closer very slowly, but didn't try to get any nearer than a reasonable distance. I wanted them to be relaxed when mom arrived to feed them, which she did, and I'll be posting shots of that sometime soon.

If something can be cute and nasty at once, these guys are it. Wonderful shots, Norm.

These are great Normcar!

My favorite is the second one. Just the right mix of surroundings and the birds. Really like the pose of the birds in that one as well.

Super job on the exposure. You really caught the color well.

Thanks mullen, zoomn, Julie, these were fun subjects to photograph and so interesting to watch that I just stopped shooting for awhile and watched. Julie, Gremlins fits.
