Got these photos yesterday morning hiking a trail. I was following these guys for a while
as they were hopping out of one bush into another. Once in a while, they came out into
the open. Since the trail was under a pretty good canopy of trees, I had put the flash
on the cam. Two of these photos were with natural sunlight, one was with flash.

20D, 100-400L, Tamron 1.4X SP

ISO 400, 510mm, f/10, 1/250sec, sunlit

ISO 400, 510mm, f/10, 1/200sec, sunlit

ISO 200, 510mm, f/10, 1/250sec, 420 EX flash

I really like the first two even though the leaf is obstructing some of the view, really nice and sharp.

Good ones woodmeister, my guess on the one with flash would be the middle one. The catchlight in the first one is perfect and the last one doesn't really have much of a light, so I'd guess that the middle one was the flash, but it's not so brilliant that it spoils the shot. Gee, after saying that I hope I'm right about the flash shot

Nice sharp shots, I like the first 2 best, I am going to have to disagree with normcar and say it was the last one that was flashed, because of the strong light on the bottom of the branch and that WM said that the first two were sunlit and the last one used the 420 EX. Sorry Norm!!:blah:

Thanks everyone for viewing and your comments.

Norm - Only the last one was flashed, although I could see where you might have thought
the second one was flashed as I had done some shadow recovery to bring out the detail
in and around the eye.

Cute little fellow. Wish leaf wasn't there in first 2 shots.
