I went to the park on the way to work today. Did not see any birds fighting over cheese but I did see a blue jay in a tree.

nice looking bird, a flash might have brightend it up a bit. There seems to be a lot of posts for these, Ive never seen one in reality.

Great shot twistedpuppy. Like Julie said, a flash would have helped some but if your blue jays are like the ones around here you don't have time to do anything else but point and shoot. They don't hang around in one spot very long. I see lots of them all the time but yours is better than anything I have captured yet.

Nice one, a touch on the shadowy side but nothing that a very slight touch of gamma correction, contrast, and selective sharpening can't cure a bit. If you don't like using flash, that would be another option. Here's a sample (hope you don't mind):

well, consider that a mixed blessing...



VERY pretty bird, but DAMN mean. From a distance you're like "oh how nice!" if it gets close, it quickly changes to "for the love of god, it's comin right for me!"
