nikon d70 sigma 170-500 lens



i was out walking when i spotted this sparrow hawk hovering, i could not get to close but i am quite pleased with the results.

I would also be pleased with such a shot. The quality and the composition arenĀ“t for National Geographic ) but it had to be an adventure for you to take such a picture!

The shot is well presented, very nice crop with the low angle looking upwards to the bird breaking the pure blue sky, and the grass maintaining balance. This is a good shot, one that you should be proud of. My only suggestion would perhaps be to crop out a touch more blue sky in order for the balance of positive and negative space to be a touch more equal...more grass and less sky (but just a touch). This would probably be my crop choice, or something similar:
