These images, taken shortely after dawn from about 400 feet are not the best, but they are sure interesting. The Least Tern is a Robin sized fish eater, and when they catch a fish, they like to show off to the neighbors. Tough little guys, the Sea Gulls don't mess with them.

The entire sequence took a touch over a second.

From that distance I'd say those shots are quite impressive! Very cool effect with the dark silhouette against thebronze water. You caught the splashvery wellin #3. Nice sequence of shots.

I've been trying for the last month to get this sequence. It's VERY difficult. The birds actually hover, and then they, without any warning, just drop. With my equipment, the whole thing is rediculously difficult. I should eat crow and switch to a lens just for this bird...

They drop right out of my screen, and to move with them is a nightmare. That this was from a long way off, is what made it possible. I hope to post a another sequence ASAP...
