My brother has just returned from the Kruger National Park [our turn in 4 weeks time !!!!!!] - he asked me if I wouldn't mind putting this up just for your enjoyment. I think it's a good pose of the 3, mother and 2 semi-cubs - the shot was taken with an FZ20 infull darkness, although I think they had a spotlight of sorts shining near or on the lions.

Way cool, in fact. I agree that it's a nice pose, indeed.

Enjoyable shot in very difficult photography circumstances, and my compliments to the person who presented this without any redeye whatsoever. One other thing, no matter how wonderful and cute theylook here, I'm glad I'm not in the middle of the pride.

Norm, I agree abot the red-eye thing, this particular pic came out very well in that respect. He does have others with plenty of eye reflection, which does tend to spoil the overall pic, however, this one somehow got past the effect.

It's amazing how some idiots have no respect for these and other wild animals - I have attached another pic taken by him of an idiot and his son, who, after seeing alioness lying in the grass, and having been told that there is a male lion justbelow the embankmentin front of the lioness [ a mating pair], decide to get out their vehicle and take a walk to go and see these "littlepussy cats" {My bro did say that he was hoping to get the action on camera} It's foolishness like this that gets the animals killed - IE : If these "men???" were attacked, the officials would have to take out the lions because they would have tasted human flesh and experienced their vulnerability

Regards

Hi, Jake! I have just read that a man was killed by a lionlast Thursday in the Kruger Park. Apparently he slippedthrough the gate at closing time and the rangers could not go after him because it got too dark. The next day they found the man half eaten by a lion. You are quite correct about the idiots who think lions are just big pussycats but ultimately their stupid actions cause the rangers to have to shoot the lion.

Nice shot of your brother's. How about him sending the second pic to the Kruger Park management?

An Excerpt for the Sunday Times - 30th July

A man has been killed by two lions at the Kruger National Park's Phalaborwa entrance in Limpopo, a spokesman for the park said.

Raymond Travers said the incident occurred on Thursday evening after the man entered the park while security guards were closing the gates.

"The man eluded security guards manning the Phalaborwa gates and ran into the bush near the gate.

"The security guards informed park rangers and began searching for the man, but because of the thick Mopani bushveld and darkness, the man could not be found and the search was called off."

When rangers resumed the search on Friday morning they found the man's remains.

Rangers found the lion with the lower half of the man's body near the Phalaborwa entrance.

Travers said a male lion was shot to recover the man's body.
