Thanks for the comment alady. I showed the photo to a friend of mine whose very clued up on birds becuase I thought there was something wrong with the photo and he told me its a different type of species(apparently there are quite a few species of comorant)

Nice shot, John, again I like the way you deal with the framing. This as well as the Kingfisher is a very touchy bird to get near to so if it's the same where you live, good work indeed.

PS - it's Cormorant (so you were very close)

I had to trick it by pretending I was walking past and never saw it(don't know if the bird bought it). The problem with that technique was I had to hand hold the camera with a sigma 170-500 which meant the photo could have been alot sharper.

I live in the city East London in South Africa. Its a city in the Eastern Cape(a province). I guess if you go to London and keep heading east you'll eventually get there. I do see how it can be confusing.
