I received my Sigma 50-500mm DG this past week. Yesterday was the first I had a chance to test it and myself out. I have a lot to learn, but I am very impressed with this lens. Woody

Brown Thrasher

English Sparrow (we got plenty, come get some)

Ruby Throated Hummingbird (female or young) This lens focuses very fast. I would not have captured this photo with my old manual focus lens.

Sleepy Orange butterfly.

As always, comments and suggestions are very welcomed.

My only comment is that these shots are all good, but are all too light - Maybe my monitor? You can give a quick answer by saying my pictures are too dark.

Congratulations on the new lens, Woody, it looks like you're taking to it nicely. You'll be able to get up nice and close with that one for sure. Love the hummer, nice job on them all.

I believe you are right Dave. I printed the Hummer photo and it was too light. I went back and re-processed the photo and the second print was much better than the first. Thanks for the confirmation and comments. Woody

Thanks Norm. It's a heck of a lens. I'm looking forward to the fall and winter so I can take a trip to Lake Mattamuskeet Wildlife Refuge for some water fowl shots...and some cool weather. These 90 degreeplus days down here in NC are growing old fast. Woody
