Somedays luck can be on your side. This was one. I was set up in a spot to try and
get some photos of goldfiches, unsuccessfully I might add, when this little guy landed on
a branch right in front of me.

All photos 20D, 100-400L @400, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/1250 sec

Beautiful shots!

We've had woodpeckers tap-tap-tapping the side of our house, and sometimes I think about shooting them with something other than a camera.

But these shots make me want to love them again, as long as they are pecking somewhere else!

Excellent shots of the downy. Most of my shots of this bird are dim and out of focus due to poor lighting and a fast bird. :-)
