Hi AAT, thanks for the compliment there, I don't know how deserving it is, however, to comment on the watusi, I'm not so sure they belong in our parts of Africa. I know we have Nguni cattle, which is a non-hybrid, totally local breed that's been here since "before the war".

I've just checked on google, and here's a link to a site which gives the history of the watusi

http://www.watusicattle.com/about.shtml

It seems they originated and abide way up North in the Burundi - Tutsi area.

Cheers

Ooops!!!

I did say it had been long while since I had seen a watusi. But yes I know of that site you posted... and others...and all the pictures of them..are at best... rotten.

See..your photos have me spoiled!

Thanks very much for the comments everyone - AAT, I'm going to Malawi in December/January, I'll be on the lookout for the elusive watusi. Its great to have such a talented uncle - just a pity he says about 1000kms away. But I am going to organize a shoot with him some day.

I'd say that you definitely have an aptitude for composition and some of these are excellent, especially the first couple and the male and female lions.

Watch out Jake, someone is approaching fast from behind :G His running shoes are smokin' too.
