This Osprey was not hunting. I believe he was looking for his girlfriend. He was WAY over my head, at least 400 feet, and I actually fell over backwards taking these pictures - fortunately on grass. The last two images being of out of focus wing tips... :shock:

This young Red Tailed Hawk was patiently sitting in a tree and spotted me before I could get some shots off. Even so, he swung back, and allowed me these two quick ones from about 50 yards out.

Dave, The Hawk shots are fantastic. You did well catching the top down profile, I usually just get the backlit silhouette....

I was both unlucky and lucky. Unlucky that I spooked him and lucky that he wasn't quite sure what did spook him and made a pass at me to find out what I was.

Ahh! You mean all the details? :lol:

Nikon D2x, Swarovski Spotting scope, 1100mm adapter, ISO 800, f13, 1/500...
