The only North American birds with that beak are some Cucko's, the Cactus Wren and some Thrashers. The colors however are way off for any of them, although the pattern resembles a Thrasher.

So where was this shot taken?

How big was the bird?

Are you SURE this was the color, or did it merely look that way because of the light?

It's definetly the right color. I believe this is another shot of an almost similar guy but chubbier with some blue tint as well. They are about 3" or less and all taken with the 100-400L zoom maxed out at 400mm - Theses pictures were shot in the rainforest islands of Trinidad/Tobago during my recent vacation:

Ahh - I thought they were shot in the USA.

I have no idea - perhaps a form of wren?
