If you look right below the eye, you'll see a big fat tick.

Shot on Shutter Priority Mode,200mm, 1/250 sec, f/6.7, ISO:400.

Another of a different female Cardinal.

Settings are the sameas above except this was 1/350 sec.

And some more of the very photogenic Mockingbird.

Shot on Shutter Priority Mode, 300mm, 1/750 sec, f/10, ISO:400

Settings were the same as previous pic.

Shot on Shutter Priority, 300mm, 1/350 sec, f/8, ISO:400

And last of all, a White-throated Sparrow. One of these days, this little bird is going to cooperatefor me to get a REALLY GOOD picture. This one required some more extensive post-processing than my other pics.

Shot on Shutter Priority, 250mm, 1/500 sec, f/11, ISO:400

What happened to the tick? Two different birds?

Great shots - love em all!

Beautiful shots! Love how clear the eyes are on the mocking bird shots.

Thanks guys.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"DBB, I'm assuming it was a different bird unless the tick fell off between trips to the feeder which I suppose is possible.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Does anyone know why I keep getting strange information popping up above each photo in front of my settings that wasn't there earlier? It did it earlier, and it just did it above one of them again. It says something about 'background color..... ' I edited and removed it again, so we'll see if it shows up later.

It just did it again on my reply above. Why is it doing that?

I like the mockingbird pics. The tick pic is disturbing, but interesting. She needs a hungry friendto peck that thing off her ! :G

Thanks. I agree about the tick. If she would sit still, I'd be glad to remove it for her. I don't understand why she won't cooperate.:-) You had a good idea too... become buddies with an insect eater. YUK!:O

Gracie,

What kind of camera do you have? I use a Nikon but at ISO 400 my pictures are more grainy than I like. Yours look pretty darn good. Are you post processing the photos to remove this stuff?

Thanks,

Bill
