the unknown big rodent in the pool is a capibarra, the world's largest rodent from the Amazon jungle.

@djb: thanks, I did not know that. That is quite a large rodent. It seemed more cuddly when I was still thinking of it as something else. Thanks for looking.

@VAtechtigger: yep, great guess--at first I thought it's b/c you live in VA, but I guess you went to college at Tech, which is still a ways away from here, and now live in Jersey. As far as chimps, there are no chimps in the National Zoo, only Gorillas and Orang-Utans as far as apes go. Thanks for looking.

@Taraelf: I used a Nikon D70. The first five pictures were with the 80-200 mm ED f/2.8, the following two were with the Vivitar 100mm f/3.5 macro, the last three with the 85mm f/1.8. All shots were in RAW and converted in RSE, and later batch resized. Thanks for looking and the kind comments.
