Down on the harbor today and these guys were all over the place. I like the fact that in the first shot there are pelican, a gull and a cormorant.

These are sooo nice. The mixture of large and small, light and dark - distorts the mind to look at them.

None of it looks real - which is meant as a compliment

Do you shoot RAW?

Just how big are those Pelicans Julie. Looking at the 4 th photo with the Cormorant standingcloser to you than the Pelican and the Pelican looks to be about 3 times as large. Is that about right.

Very Nice!! I like the forth shot with the variety and frozen activity. Gives it a sense of aliveness. Looks like it was a fun day at the beach.

The reason I asked is that some of the highlights are blown, and by the nature of the shots, they are not blown by much. Shooting RAW would allow you to change the exposure by a step or two and bring the highlights back...

Really...:-)

That's why it's called a "digital negative."

Ahh, the days of the darkroom, where I could do this manually...

I always lovelooking at your pics! The fourth one is my favorite - it looks like thecormorant is trying to mimic the pelican! Very nice - thanks for sharing!
