These are not great images. They are close crops of shots from about four hundred yards, but they show some odd behavior :G

The Red Breated Merganser may not have the wierdest mating ritual, but he's up there - and this guy is over a month premature...

The first picture shows the "wind-up." The next are various captures of him "baying the moon." If there were ladies present (and interested) they would be climbing all over each other...

Actually what he is saying is not printable on a family site. So sorry, while I COULD give a direct translation - I wont.
