Are you sure they were fighting?

(Let me pause and say what wonderful images they are....)

But, our sterotypes sometimes get in the way of seeing reality. I once watched a "territorial battle between two pairs of Red Tailed hawks, only to finally realise they were playing a game of "musical tree's." Sort of sophistcated tag if you will

You are correct - I believe it's the male who try to 'determine' which nest he's going to stay with...

He did indeed moved on to a different nest eventually

I wouldn't know if they were fighting or courting but I do know that you made some excellent captures. You were at the right place at the right time and you really did a good job. Very nice photos.
