Thursday was overcast and sprinkly but, I did manage to capture a few birds.

dennis

1. Black-capped Chickadee Every time I turned my attention to a screech owl in a box about a half dozen chickadees would fly over to the bushes and make a chatter. As soon as I went to take some shots of the chickadees, they would fly off. 20D 100-400mm @400mm iso400 f/9 1/160 EC +2/3 hnadheld

3. Red-tailed Hawk. I couldn't resist trying for some shots of this hawk perched on the side of a busy road. Some people stopped and watched as I got some shots off. 20D 100-400mm @400mm iso400 f/7.1 1/320 EC +2/3 handheld. this was almost full frame.

4. Red-tailed Hawk. Same hawk after it flew across the road in dimming light. The hawk was getting a bit frustrated with me. She looks sad in this picture. 20D 100-400mm @400mm iso 800 f/5.6 1/125 EC +2/3 handheld.

5. Red-tailed Hawk. Same one. I wanted to try using iso 200 to get a less noisy shot. One of the last shots before she flew. 20D 100-400mm @400mm iso200 f/5.6 1/30 (thank you IS!!!)

Really nice djb--I love the blood still on his talons. Did you get to see him finish his dinner?
