Chato, the White balance Dog (patent pending) has always attracted Swans, He's 110 pounds, pure white, and Swans, well I guess saying they have poor vision is not an exaggeration.

In this case I have an entire series of a male, who in display mode, took a look at Chato and decided, "Hot babe."

So he spent 10 minutes impressing my dog, who laid out flat on the sand, black nose and pink tongue, no doubt led him on. I was about 60 feet away, although the Swan was only fifteen feet from Chato - who although sceptics might doubt, thoroughly enjoyed the show.

The first image was taken from 150 yards, when the Swan first spotted Chato, all the rest are full frame or near full frame.

In these two images, the Swan started his elaborate act. Bowing and spreading his wings, fluffing them up...

Swans usually pick up on the fact that Chato is a dog, and get quite irate. Not this guy, who finally gave up, but never got mad (Hey, you never know if "she's" gonna change her mind)

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO sorry that I didn't have my back-up camera with me. It would have presented an image of this bird bowing and flirting to a Dog, laying flat out facing him. Black nose, black eyes and "simulated" beak of a pink tongue...

Why that day? I usually carry it in my pocket, but I FORGOT it and I'm KICKING myself. Never mention it again....:?:

With a little imagnation (and a combination of being really, really horny and bad vison) he looks just like a female Swan...

Plus of course he was laying Down, flat on his belly.

Wow, the WB dog really does look like a female swan! I don't think I've ever heard truer words than these...

Actually, I think he's a pretty nice looking companion you've got there, Dave. Then, of course there is that series of great photos you've posted of the admiring male swan. You done well!
