some editing, I prefer them lighter in color. any thoughts?

A beautiful bird. Very unique looking. They look fine...a bit light on my monitor, but very good feather detail. Woody

I agree with the others. Most of the blown whites on the top of the head have been corrected. Now you have down right excellent shots instead of just really good ones. Once again nice work. Steve

Thanks all, I was worried about them looking washed out but the actual kookaburra is correct coloring.

Not knowing the actual color of the bird I had to go back a forth between your two posts several times. I agree with the others your edited photos look better. Nice shots.

The beak intrigues me. I've never seen that shape before. What does this bird normally eat?

they eat rats, mice, snakes lizzards etc
