ABRE is the spanish word for OPEN and is used on bands for very small birds. Once the band is opened than the banding information is on the inside.



Great pictures..love the seagull.

Actually, all bands from the US Bird Banding Laboratory have both the English and Spanish words on the outside of the smaller bands with a call number to report the findon the inside.
