WOW VP,,,, very easy to see why you are tickled :-). Three very beautiful shots on a great perch against a clear blue sky and in fantastic warm lighting,,,, just outstanding shots!!!!!!

Keith, I couldn't believe my luck. I just stumbled on this situation.....the bird was close, late afternoon, sun at 90 degrees, and it wasnot sitting on a power pole 100 yds. away.Probably does need somegood processing a little later. I really do appreciate the positive comments.

Barracuba and Bob, I appreciate you guys taking the time to look and comment as well.

Wow, those are outstanding pictures! I've never seen a bird like that before - is it a raptor of some kind?

Hi toshi, thanks for looking. The Crested Caracara is a bird from Mexico and is in just a few southern states. It is in the Falcon family although it seems to make most of it's living off carrion. It does have some awesome talons though and probably puts them to use.
