Lots of Blue Heron at the Fern Hill wetlands this weekend. The Herons were very cooperative and more interested in their territorial disputes than me.

very nice indeed! i especially like # 3, with the light filtering through the wing feathers... nice close-ups, too.herons are usually fairly skittish, and won't let humans get too close (though i have shots take at 15-20 feet, but those are the exception, not the rule!). very nice flight shots, too. how far away were you, and what lens were you using?

Aside from the waking up part, I love shooting at dawn. And the light can be so rewarding. Wonderful shot of these guys.
