Shot these these morning. Came across this cormorant "fishing" close to the shore. So when he dove under, I hurried over to the shoreline hoping he'd come up for air around the spot I was. Lucky me. He came up right in front of me, saw me, and took off. Managed to get a few shots before he vamoosed. Like almost all the birds at the sanctuary I go to, these guys are elusive. If they spot you from any distance, they head in the opposite direction immediately. The only birds at this place that seem to put up with people are the songbirds, and maybe once in a while the spotted towhees. Even the ducks are elusive. The only thing that was disappointing getting these shots was that I had to shoot directly into the sun-hence the silhouettes. I guess you can't have everything.......cheers.......Don.
