Hi, took this photo of a bee curled up, is it better with the aphid or should i crop it out?

I'm thinking it adds an extra element to the photo - any thoughts?

The photo was taken with an fz30

Hi iom, I think it is a great shot as is [off course, you could have both, one with and one without the aphid :G]

I used photoshop to alter the color balance when I printed it out - bit more yellow, but I really need to learn more on how to use it

"Photoshopping" is a necessary part ofdigital photgraphy, and one learns new tricks all the time. With this one I used a soft edged burning brush for the flower to darken the outeredges, then I used an "Action" called : "painting with light" to lighten the bee, downloaded from

http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm, a really great site for actions.

It all sounds complicated, but it is not once you get into it. [like riding a bicycle :G]

Here's another one, abit more dramatic, adding a bit of Unsharp Mask, but not in the normal way - this time using a small Amount and a larger radius [experiment]
