Michael Reichmann recently posted an article of his recent safari to South Africa titled the same as above, http://www.luminous-landscape.com/es...lephants.shtml

AndI agree with him in that it is diffcult to present something "new" when it comes to wildlife shots, because, how many shots can you take of "elephants" or whatever else, and we have alsobeen very spoilt by the excellent shots and footage presentedby pros in the field.

Anyway, hereare some more elephants and a few others.

This first group of eles coming down to drink at a water hole I think presents a reasonable shot

This second shot, also at a water hole, I felt to get more of the scene than the individual ele. there were 40+ animals that converged on this little puddle, running down in the heat of the day. After 10 or so minutes, they looked up at us [just my wife and I on the scene] and decidedthat they wanted toexit just where we were !!] No arguments from us after a challenge from them, we quickly shifted into gear and out of there. Breeding herds as this one was, can be aggressive and dangerous.

Looks like a game of football being played on the field, a group of Zebra and Gnu having fun in the sun - Could be used in one of those "where's the ball" competitions :-)

This leopard stayed around just long enough for me to take a quick shot at him [he could have at least snarled for the camera !!] Taken with the 20D's built in flash, just before sunrise

Lastly, a bit of scenery where we were onthis vacation. The countryside was bursting with pre-springfloweres and foliage, the yellow on the trees being flowers on the normally dry barren looking acacias

Awesome shots, Jake!!! I'll give you 1 of my deepest compliments for these. National Geographic needs you!!! I'm just a nobody but it's always been a fantasy of mine to able to get shots like these & have them in NG. BTW, leopard pic is my favorite!
