Hi
Can anyone help me with either removing the shadow or replacing with a new background please. have had several unsuccessful attempts

You could use a gradient to cover it up.

Hi,

Don't know what software you have, but if you have PS, the magic wand tool selects most of the shadow area easily, any residue can be cleaned up with the clone stamp tool, with the area bordering the hat make a selection along the hat edge, and into the background (use a 1 - 2 pixel feather), then sample outside the selection area and clone into the selection area. result as attached. ...
