no matter how hard i try, i cannot get the wow factor in my images.

some say, u gotta improve ur contrast. some say light. some say play with the colour curves.

Can some one analyse these pics i a will now upload, and tell me how to improve. infact a few photoshop enhancements on these to show me the effect would also be very very appreciated.

Try asking for help on one image at a time...also, asking in the right Forum (where I'm now moving this) will help.

I deepened the shadows to bring out the water depth a little. Added some clouds to give it some depth. Don't know if it meets the WOW criteria however.

hi amtir0, this is just using curves, and then put a border around.

what needs to be done with a few is to take two shots with exposure for sky and land then blended in photoshop to give them that wow factor.......u can even do it with black n white, its high dynamic range.......some are rather flat and no amount of adjusting contrast etc will fix that :-(. for instance the first shot of bridge....sky is exposed nicely.......shadows too dark........lighten shadows sky looks poor..hence u take two images and blend......get the ideal shot

gary,

thanks for the great insight! I get the logic. I have HDR in my mind, but since I am a beginner I do not know much of photography, so I decided to leave it apart. I will consider starting it instead!

Apart from HDR, how can we get those rest pics better?

had a go with the wine bottle and glass

did best i could with levels...........histogram was all over the place and showed signs of previous adjustments.......its best to only do 1 adjustment as data is lost !

also unsharp mask, till it looked fine to my eyes

lastly i used a alien skin plug in called exposure and tried various blach n white film effects till one looked ok result is bellow, is it better??
