I cant quite tell what is not quite right with this shot, would be interested in what others can do, and how they do it to improve it.

Personally, I don't see that anything needs to be done. It is an outstanding photo just as it is. I would be prould to have that picture displayed on my wall.

This really is gorgeous! Sharp foreground, soft background, great colors. The only thing I would change (and only a "maybe" so I'm not going to do it) would be to clone out the twig jutting to the lower right corner with such clarity. This would draw the eye along just one line of travel through the photo without being given a dissonant option.

From aladyforty's other post in the wildlife forum she said she did not like the softness of the bird. So I sharpened up the bird in this version.

thanks choeschen, I gather you used layers to dothe sepia backgrounds. I will have to work on the photo a little more. They look quite nice like that. Cant make my mind up which is best, the color version or going for the toned down look:-)

Thanks, I am finding myself getting more and more critical of my photos, But I think thats a good thing. Also it is interesting to see other peoples Ideas for your photos if you have a bit of a mind block:-)
