photoshop was used for taking the contrast down soI could colorize it in a restoration color programme for black and whites, Ive found that you need to take the contrast down to get the best results. Then I went back to photoshop and changed the colors again through hue and saturation so I could get the change to the water color.

Mealers, yes, it is definilty right about the borders , as you can see by playing with that filter.

Monza76, thanx for explaining. Try to add a small feather value to the selection ( 1 for this photo dimension should be ok) beside setting the antialias : this will help make the horizon less artificial.
