I love this shot but my grandson is not "light" enough and Id like to make the background behind the tunnel less distracting. Any Ideas???

I'm quite sure others can do better than this, especially with the color, but something along these lines is a slight improvement.

There's an artifact on the right side of the tunnel from lowering the brightness. OOPS! It can be corrected with a bit of select-adjust in PS or PSP.

thanks everyone, I really like the way you brought out the childs face. And fernlander the blurred background is a great Idea, I had though of cloning stuff out.
