I love this tree. Can you think of anything fun or dramatic to do with it?

Here's another shot of the same tree.

ok, i'm guessing(and hoping for your sake) you live near this tree.

if you do, i'd suggest a trip back, lol, preferably when it's either sunset, sunrise, or the sun is in the EXACT position it is in these shots

but, i want you to expose a shot for the sky and the tree (one shot so the tree looks good, and one so that the sky looks good), and merge them in photoshop (if you need help with that i'm here )

then you'll have details in all the picture..

that's the only thing i don't like about these shots...is the sky is overexposed (nothing you can do about it...without blending two exposures...or going at a different time...but a different time would lose the wonderful shadows...well..you could use flash...but that's not too easy to get it looking good and/or natural)

well, there are probably ways of replacing the sky...but i think it would be best to go back there

Vito, Glad I read your post this morning. The tree is near where I work, and I took this at lunchtime a couple of days ago. I can repeat my actions, but I think the forecast for today is rain.

Later: Being a more typical fall day in Rochester, the sky is completely overcast, and it is raining intermittently. I did not even bother to bring my camera with me when I left the house. I could end up regretting that move. By lunchtime we could have Billy Graham sun rays breaking through the clouds. As we say about the weather here, "If you don't like it, wait a minute; it'll change."

only downside to that, is taking too long might make you late, and in trouble with your boss

nice job digicamfan looks great in b/w!

Cool digicam fan--looks like something out of an old sci-fi movie.

The sun never came out today. I'll check the forecast for tomorrow.

lady, a lovely painting!

Vito, still no sun today, but I brought my camera and tripod just in case. My brother-in-law gave me an old Vivitar tripod quite a while back, and though it is compact, the darn thing is heavy. All metal. I haven't tried it yet with my camera; I'm assuming both have standard mounts.
