Being a complete novice I wanted to make the nose bigger in PSP, how would I go about it, here's the original and my attempt, but I can't get justthe nose "bigger" rather than all of the head (ie like the cards available in shops etc...:roll

Hi Padsnbon,

I think what you've done so far looks agood step in the right direction.I also tried to take it further, but my efforts were hopeless :?

I have not used PSP for much more than browsing for maybe 9 years now, but it is the same technique as most packages, you need to copy the nose detail to a new layer and scale that layer, attention to blending will be required.

I think you tried to use the "punch" effect there, you could also use that on the copied layer, be sure to take a little extra into the copied layer (around the nose) and then "punch" that layer then start to blend the surrounding area back in.

In Photoshop you can use the same idea as method 1, or use liquify and protect the areas you don't want to effect with a freeze mask.

Here I have morphed the nose larger than I would assume desired just to show the result.
