On the sugestion ofVTphotog I'mI'm moving this post here to see if any one has
any ideas for this picture. It is a WWII security photo from my Dad's aviation welder's certification. I like what I've done so far. (UH-OH maybe I shouldn't have said that) but can't get his right ear...Right. (Left side of picture) I do NOT use PS. I have Corel Photo Paint and so far I've been able to figure out what is done in PS and do it in Corel. It is in layers and I might put Dadback over the old pictureto give to family members. The scanned image is1492 X 1495pixels. I don't want too change the color or feel too much but I am open to anything that makes it better I know this is a little different for here but I love this picture and feel a true need to restore it. I have another but one thing at a time. Any thoughts? He really did have two ears. No really. I shoud add that he did have a lot of freckles and that is what you're seeing there. dale |

Those are nice. Colorized!!! I never thought of that. It's nice because it still looks old... My Corel (ver 9) can't do that. Thanks for your time. BTW I did it... Yes i bought a Rebel XT. But it was backordered. AGAIN!!! Was supposed to last Saturday and now next Tuesday. I got a teriffic deal so i don't mind waiting. However my 70-300 Sigma APO is comming today. I saw you were asking about one and a 20D. I'll let ya know how I like it. Next week. I do with my Sony F717 untill then. dale |

I like all this cloning, it's relaxing. Buggers my eyes, but relaxing.
I've given him his right ear back. Well actually his left ear, but that's alright, isn't it ? Just a levels adjustment and lots of cloning and Healing brush. Oh, and copied his left ear, flipped horizontal, positioned and erased small amount to account for slight angle of head. ![]() |

Hey Steve you reading my mind?? LOL I saw this at work at lunch and thought if no one tries the ear copy when I get home I will throw one up and there it is, well done nice job. Only comment I would make and it is a hard one to do is leave some of the freckles behind, might need to even find new ones and add them back maybe.
I would like to see aladyforty take stevekin's version and color that I think that would be very effective. The one you did came out nice, reminds me of some of the dossier pics I have seen on the new war games. |

Dale;
I have been a bit tied up for a couple days. I took a look, and tried redrawing the ear based on the lighting and the angle of the photo. I hadn't seen Alady40's coloring, so gave this a try as well. It is just a guess as to colors. brian |

This is great and thanks for the suggestion too bring it here. I shared the page address with my family across the country so they can see Dad get a face lift. Everyone is doing so good. I thank all who give-it-shot. I see in the color versions that the my cloning really messed up dad's left side(Right side of photo) I'll have to work on that but it is a bad area on the original. I'll have to do better. Thanks Brian Thanksto all dale |
