I took my puppy swimming today and managed to catcha shot of him staring off towards the water. Unfortunately, light was low and the shot is pretty blurry. I almost like the blurry look, as the picture almost appears "painted". I was hoping people might be able to play up this look, making it look even more painted. I'd love to capture him at this age, so help would be wonderful

Feel free to do whatever you want; I'm looking for ideas and suggestions. If I'm off-base and pic just is hopeless, let me know also.

Thanks.

This is my attempt. Hope you like. I use Microsoft Digital Image Pro.

First one was done using the Accented Edges.

I forgot what I used for the second one, sorry.

Here's one called "Celestial Puppy". I'll do a few more later of totally different charactor.
As you can see, I seem to dislike subtlety.

Jeeze.........I was just messing with some other "moods" for this shot and saved more than I'd intended to.
All these were done with Photoshop 7, and, except for a few generalities, I couldn't tell you much about how each pic was arrived at. Oh, well.....
On the off-chance that knome2 wanted to keep a "good" copy of one, I have the Tiff files that these were copied from.

The first just an edit of the image as is, the second was desaturated then hand painted.

Here's one with a canvas texture and a closer crop...

Thanks for all the suggestions. The closest to what I was looking for was the most recent, with the canvasfilter.... I've done some work on this on my own, using a crosshatch filter, some color adjustments, and few other adjustments, and have a version I like. I'll put it up for critique later.
