Okay, I fiddled around with various options - on this one I just did another adjustment layer for brightness/contrast, and upped the contrast.

Oh dear, it's like one of those spot the difference competitions! Not a lot of difference I'm afraid.... the level of saturation compared to the above pix is not good .

Where there is a lot of difference is in the level of noise. This was an 800 ASA pic. Well done Neat Image!

Well levels is a good place to start adjust the mid point (midtones). Curves will add a bit of pop, for this just go free hand. Or go more extreme with hue and sat and maybe color correction add more red and magenta, maybe yellow but then you loose some blue. Here are 2 different examples. REMEMBER, these will bring out the remaining noise so some more removal, probably manual will be required.

Creeduk,

That is fantastically helpful!!!!!!

Life is very busy, but I hope to post my version (following your guidelines above) later today. I lik the yellow one very much.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

A shameless tweak of Davecwo's fine earlier work.

I just thought removal of part of lines would add something to the composition.

Wow Digcamfam,

That is very very good! What a difference! Well done.

I've done my final adjustments (regrettably without seeing A's line removal first....) and here it is.

I upped the yellow and cyan, & I tweaked levels and curves a bit. I also did some more localized sharpening round the main poles, cloning out the most glaring pixels that resulted. That was very helpful Creeduk....

Many thanks for everyone's input - it was all fantastically useful....

This version is for people who like greenish sunsets :G

Caroline.

P.S. I have come back and replaced my early posting with another one....the car needed a bit of highlighting, though I'm afraid I've done it rather roughly here

probably way too late to continue this thread, but i had a go at your pic, with fair results. ran through NeatImage, then used Irfanview to increase contrast and saturation, sharpen, and bump up the blue and red to enhance the sky... looks a bit better to me, anyway...

Verrrrrry interesting! Doesn't the different edit make a whole new picture...It's got a complete different feel - also very very nice indeed. Well done!

It has been fascinating to see the different approaches. I must have another bash (when I went back to check out my latest one Isaw it wasn'tvery good).

Thanks again for having a go.

Caroline

P.S. Pretty hat!
