I took this shot a few months ago for this couples wedding. It is one of a few that they like and would frame but the background is BLAH, I want to change it without being just a flat background that is obviously edited. I thought of perhaps some kind of scenery but have not come up with anything great, Im interested in what others would do with it.

put in a bigger shot to view

me thinks you will offend people who dont have their monitor resolution set to 2400 x 1600. Post smaller and link to a larger version.

Strewth Sheila !! Sorry, I mean Julie :-)

Had to wait for my mouse to recover from scrolling around this thing before I could suggest something. When you said scenery, I presume you mean something like this.....

I used the extract tool in PS. Don't use it very often, thought i'd give it a go though.

Extracted the couple and got one of my own photos, copied and pasted, and dragged the new background belowthe layer with Tony and Jo. Adjusted the contrast of my background to try and get it looking ok and ran round the edges with the blur tool.

Unfortunately, hair is very difficult to select, so lost a wee bit of it. Think it looks ok though.

This must be you up for work Monday morning then. I'm just off to bed Sunday night.

'Talk' to you later.

you might try to blur the background a bit to give it a portrait feel and disguise the PS.

Yes, of course that would look better. I just liked my shot of my local park, so didn't do it in my edit :-).

Julie, the Extract tool is the very first in the filters drop down in PS7.

EDIT : Have now blurred the background 8)
