Right this is the original pic - and yes the sea is that colour - what would you do to improve it? Crop is first I guess - my best attempt at making it look better follows...

Hard as there is not much to work with here. Colors are right so the shot just does not have a lot to offer. What I did here was take another beach shot with similar but brighter sky and blend the 2 together.

Well the sand and sea look a lot better, but the stakes look a bit ghostly...But definetly an improvement...

Yes there seems very little color information in the posts, I faded them out with a haze on the water, but to make them better would require repainting or adding new ones. they are basically VDark Green and grey no real detail in them.

Though this isn't the Critiques section, I'll take a stab at analyzing, first. Basically, just too much empty space.

Here is an idea for what I would probably do. Cropped, sharpened, and adjusted for exposure a bit. Added a graduated color filter effect from light orange to light blue, bottom to top. Couldn't decide on the helicopter, so left it there.
