Once you make selction, copy to new layer either in the layer menu or with ctrl + j. Now drag the layer from the layer pallete to the new image and you will have the bird.

its easiest to merge 3 pics if the bird had moved along the branch (by the way i think the first pic was great by itself) would have helped with less editing to do.

ill try tell u basicly what i did, i used the pic with the bird looking down as the base image, and draged the other 2 over its so u have got the 3 all on top of each other, then i drew a rough line round each of the other 2 birds with polygon lasso took and inversed the selection so that i could delete everything except the bird. then used free fransform to make the 2 cut out birds similar size and moved then to roughly where i wanted them and did a final resize.

next job is to do a finer edit around the bird cut outs.

notice the left one goes behind the middle one! well u make it a little transparent so u can see the middle bird through it, and then cut away what u dont need, when tranparancy is back at 100% it looks like its behind it. a slight adjustment to levels was needed to just match the colours better.

What I would consider is assuming you took the pictures, take another one of that bush/tree getting a nice branch with space for the 3 versions of bird. now drag and mask the birds to the new branch.
