Greetings all. This is a rare shot since the gates of this dam are not opened very often.

The sun was in a very bad spot and washed out the sky on the right hand side. Do any of you have any idea on how to even out the exposure in the sky? (without replacing it completly)

Thanks in advance

Mugmar

You can duplicate the layer, then change mode multiply. now mask that layer so it only affects the sky region. Or add a new layer change mode to color and paint the sky in. Finally you could replace the sky altogether.
This one was just a reallyfast color layer.

I quite like the picture as is, but since this is Ectreme Makeiover, I thought I would take a shot. Copied a section of sky from the left side, flipped it and pasted to the right side. Applied HDR tool, and then cloned out a bit of lens flare in the middle of the bridge over the dam.

Dr you have to watch how far you change the settings as you will see it starts to introduce a purple tone which does not match. I tried to keep mine subtle as the sky is bright in that area and would only appear very slight blue to the eye.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My goal was to make it so it wasn't too bright at all. Besides saving the details, I tried to darken the right side.

vtphotog'sredo is probably the best in the group. []Sharper than the others particularily wording on the right re Army Corp etc. The fence on top of the dam permits the sky to show it's color.
