My dad died at age 49, 20 years ago. I uncovered thei picture of him and it is the first picture I have ever seen of him as a young man. It would mean an awful lot to me if someone could fix this so that I can get a reasonably clean print.

Thanks so much!

Well, it's improved, but hopefully someone else can do better!

I just did some levels, a little cloning out of some bigger spots and USM with a large radius and small amount. Sharpening was hard without making it look pixelated.

I converted to monochrome, also cleaned up some of the more obvious spots, and ran it through Image Analyzer to sharpen it up some. Wish I could do better, but I think that the photo was a bit overexposed to begin with, and it is nearly impossible to recover detail that isn't there.

Brings back memories.

Not much I could do with the blown highlights, but it should make a decent small print.

This is a 800x600 version of my attempt to clean up the picture of your Father.

I gently tweaked the image to preserve its age, and to keep that lovely non-digital look it has.

If you like it and want a larger size copy of it emailed to you, just PM me with your email address, and its yours.

Hope you like the end result.

I thought a little color would improve the shot
