This is the only picture my father has of his parents and I am trying to restore it for him as a gift, but I am having a very difficult time doing so. What I am trying to do is, combine both pictures (and make it one portrait), sharpen the images, make the background one color, and essentially print it as an 8x10. Any help is greatly appreciated and/or referrals to a "photo restoration shop" in Long Beach, CA.

Thanks in advance for any help and/or suggestions.

The problem is that if you resize it you won't be able to make a good 8 X 10 print from the edited image. 25k just isn't large enough to make the effort worthwhile.

Smugmug has a 7 day free trial. That might be long enough to get the full sized photo online and have someone edit it for you. Just post the link to the photo here.
