Harriet - thanks for the input. I may try playing with cropping and such with this one...

John - thanks for the feedback. I notice that I tend to take far more portrait than landscape orientation, not sure why... That first shot was another "lucky accident" of being in the right place at the right time.
Almost forgot to answer your question - yes we do have a number of late-season blooms here. Plants like Goldenrod, Aster and Gentian typically bloom at or near the peak of autumn foliage color. And shrubs like Witch Hazel usually don't even start blooming until the leaves are already falling or fallen!
