hi everyone, great forum you got here. I know this may seem like an odd question, but i need a camera recommendation. lol..
ok, here goes.
my family want me to take some still shots off of a bunch of 8mm film, and i made up a small system to do just that. i have an led light source, and a set of rewinds, but i need a camera to be able to do it.
i am not interested in a video camera, only one that takes still shots. i want a camera that can take a full hd picture (1080) but i also need that camera to be able to operate in full manual mode. no autofocus, red eye correction, etc.
i would also like to be able to activate the shutter from my pc via software through the usb port, and save the shot to the pc instead of the camera memory card.
i know that there are systems that can capture the film with mirror boxes and all that neat jazz, but i am on disability and cannot afford those kind of machines. plus it would not make sense to spend that kind of money for a limited use such as mine. I am also not going to pay somebody else to do it for me because it would not be worth the money.
i have already hooked my olympus digital camera up to this and the system works well, but my current camera lacks the desired resolution and the ability to be fully manual.
I saw a couple nice hd webcams that can probably do the job, but they were not 1080 resolution.
