Yep, I'm familiar with the FZ10, Jake. You really used it well for these photos!

This plover is similar in some ways to the Killdeer, another plover that occurs all over North America. When approached too closely during the breeding season the killdeer performs a broken wing act, usually away from the nest, to draw attention away from the eggs or young chicks. Does this plover of your area have a similar behavior?
