Even before I owned a kodak, I had read complaints about kodak's color science image processor in regard to over-saturization. Most colors, especially greens, come out very bright and vibrant but reds seem to bleed and blend with surrounding shades unless there is alot of contrast between the two. This isn't unique to kodak though, in fact the only company who I haven't seen compaints of this with is canon and their digic/digicII chipsets.

Try bumping the sharpness and/or contrast up to high? That might provide a cleaner line to discern the colors...
