Aren't we all characterized by the landscape we live in. Coming back "home" for perhaps a longer visit can cure some of the nostalgia.
As I understand it many americans have moved (have had to move) to another state and can seek comfort in the bare thought that the home state still is there
, regardless of what has happened later in life
