Neither will give you "close ups" strictly speaking. You need to select the "macro" or close up setting on your camera. If it is not enough, then you need a macro attachment.
Telephoto magnifies the scene to bring you up really close to something far away, while wide angle takes in a whole "wide" scene. e.g. if you take a shot with your camera, you may not be able to geta whole room in at home. With a wide angle you will get much more of the whole room in. The use of wide angle and a large depth of field canmake some very creative images. |

It's still not the right link, can't get it to work.
If you want to see different accessories lenses for your camera (S5000), check out this page which shows various lenses on your camera (with sample pictures): http://www.raynox.co.jp/english/digital/s5000/index.htm If your camera's built-in macro capability isn't close enough for you, suggest you check out the DCR-150 & DCR-250 in the above link (they will get you SUPER CLOSE). |

After waisting an entire 8hours of my employers money today, I have decided on the following lenses. Raynox DCR-2020PRO Tele and a DCR250Macro.I do however have a few more questions.
1.Do these choices sound ok? 2.Are there any other manufacturers that make equivalent macro lenses for the s5000 as i can only realy find Raynox, and they are pretty scarce here in London? 3.In terms of .mm , what size should i be looking at buying?(lenses) 4.Would any of these lenses be used together, ie a telephoto with a macro or any other combination? 5.Would i need a filter kit/lens, and what would i gain in having such a lens? |
