i have an hp photosmart r707 at some time, the problem is that the camera is only 3x of optical zoom and i need more.is it possible to add more zoom with add-on lens. what kind of material do i need?

Please help!

Youmust makea conversion lens mount and thensome conversion lenses (Example: 2x). The HP R707 does not have a conversion lens thread neither does HP make conversion lenses for the R707 so both must be home-made

Add-on lenses might give you some help but soon you want more. Its just first-aid to get little more zoom with add-on lenses.

I had a cp 4100 with 3x zoom and i soon noticed that I have far tool little zoom. I decided to sell my old camera and buy
the panasonic Fz20 12x zoom camera. It really meets my photographical needs.

Or you can get a Kodak Dx6490 or Kodak Dx7590 and add a Teleconverter lens and get this. Taken at 4-5 miles distance through smog heat waves and haze. Huntsville Alabama.

Or get this from about a hundred yards or so.

what kind of zoom lens are you using?

bigdawg May 22, 2005 3:17 PM

The DX6490 comes with a 10x optical zoom built in. Also has a 3x digital zoom built in. I then purchased the Kodak 55mm lens adapter and an Olympus TCON-17 1.7x telephoto lens convertor. All of those together give a combined 51x. If my math ain't off today. The 10x X 3x X 1.7x = 51x I don't use the digi zoom a lot, but it can get you out there and make the shot you want sometimes!

thanks for answering. I am having trouble getting answers from anyone. I own a fuji s5000 and I am looking for a good tele lens. Do you think the crystalvue sharpshooter is 2 much? I think its 8x32, whatever that meens.

The CrystalVue LX would probably be more appropriate than the Sharpshooter since you would have to use a 55-37mm step down ring to mount the Sharpshooter to the S5000. My opinion is that either lens would be overkill, of very limited use, and a bear with which to work. They are 8x monoculars and designed to work with the camera's lens at full telephoto. With the S5000, that would make the telephoto length close to 3000mm. That sounds wonderful in theory, but it creates significant problems. I'd check with Crystalvue to see if they recommend either of the monoculars for the S5000 before buying it.
